Role

UI Designer

Timeline

May 2022 to January 2023

Quick Start

The product provides the consumer access to various plants from different nurseries and a robust delivery service. The product provides retailers visibility to compete with big corporations in the plant-buying market.

The Challenge

Consumers may not be able to transport plants due to size or mobility issues. On the side of the retailer, they face competition from big corporations and lack of visibility. Small plant stores are often found through word of mouth, social media, local gardening clubs, farmer's markets or just by chance.

The Process

Based on a survey I conducted, the pain points identified included

  • a lack of convenience when searching for a particular plant

  • limited accessibility for those who may not be able to transport plants themselves

  • a lack of variety in plant options available at big-box stores like Home Depot or Lowe's

The Solution

I addressed user pain points, by

  • Centralizing all local nurseries into one platform, simplifying the search process for users

  • Offering a robust delivery service for all plants, ensuring that everyone has access to their plant purchases

  • Additionally, the app encourages users to support small businesses by showcasing the stock of local nurseries and plant shops.

A lot of the iconography comes from Google's material.io resources page. The styling takes inspiration from the Grubhub and Doordash e-commerce model.
